The Brigade fluviale et nautique (BFN) of Matoury in French Guiana has recently acquired a powerful new vessel named “Jaguar.” This high-speed interceptor expands the unit’s capabilities across various sectors, including combating illegal gold mining, trafficking, and even counter-terrorism efforts. Positioned at the launch ramp at Dégrad des Cannes in the town of Remire-Montjoly, the unit is undergoing training to maximize the capabilities of this new asset. Alongside the local gendarmerie’s intervention group (AGIGN) from Cayenne, the BFN is preparing for enhanced operations on the coastline with this advanced semi-rigid boat.
