In Marseille, for the first Olympic water events, a major security deployment was put in place to ensure the safety of the event. Nearly two hundred personnel from the maritime and nautical gendarmerie are securing the Olympic water zone under the authority of the Maritime Prefect. The meticulous setup leaves no room for external threats.
